 | 04/15/2008: HDI SHOW 2008
Moscow, Russia, April 15, 2008 - The 2008 HDI Show was the largest display of audio-video equipment and home entertainment systems in Russia. Held at the International Crocus Exhibition Center in Moscow - the show exhibited most innovative industry equipment. Attendees found themselves surrounded by HD players, LCD panels and plasmas, HI-FI and High End home theatre systems, multimedia systems, video projectors, portable electronics and digital TV receivers.

The Crocus Expo Center also housed PHOTOFORUM-2008, an exhibition of consumer and professional imaging. Functioning as the main combined electronics show in Russia, this joint project represented the latest achievements in audio, video and photo industries. The project attracted more than 125,000 people, 12,700 of whom were AV industry specialists.
High Definition was the main focus for this year’s show. During the specially organized “HD DAY”, audio-video experts discussed the advantages of new formats, as well as trends and tendencies of HD development. Frank Simonis, the chairman of the European office of the Blue Ray Association, shared news from Blu Ray and outlined current positions of new formats on different world markets.
It was concluded that general stable growth is expected in the digital market,. Though the Russian digital market is close to saturation, it continues to grow at about 18-35%. New formats and carriers, greater integration and multi-functionality - are all factors that could strongly influence the active expansion of the market and its future development.

Every year HDI Show introduces the latest achievements in consumer electronics. Highlighted below are some of the featured products:
- Sony presented a wide range of full HD solutions. Visitors were shown the newest Sony OLED TV, with its super slim display of only 3mm and highest yet image quality. Also the company demonstrated its famous dancing player Rolly whose design could be described as “a bright, jumping egg with wings”.
- Panasonic introduced their super slim plasma at about 2.5 ñm in thickness; the biggest plasma in the world at 150 in.; a model range of plasmas and LCD panels with full HD Viera 2008.
- Pioneer exhibited a revolutionary concept in plasma TVs. They showed the world’s slimmest plasma 50 in., with the thickness of only 9 mm! Pioneer also presented the new 9G generation plasmas, noted for their improved levels of black color, 5 times deeper than KURO. The improved levels of the color black, distinguishes Pioneer from last year’s winners, KURO.
Connoisseurs of hi-end music enjoyed the sound of the new Sapphire Dynaudio. Its loudspeakers are based on the same technology as the flagman model Evidence, and it is built into a rather unusual hand-made body. Comprising of all the best product features the company has achieved over its lifetime, the Sapphire series was specially developed for the 30th anniversary of Dynaudio. HDI Show pictures
